1. Overview
Static var generator is a new type of power electronic device used for dynamic compensation of reactive power. By detecting the voltage and current of the compensation object, the command current calculation circuit calculates the command signal of the compensation current. The signal is amplified by the compensation current generating circuit to obtain a compensation current. The compensation current and the reactive current to be compensated in the load current are offset, and finally the desired supply current is obtained. The application of the static var generator could overcome the shortcomings such as the slow response speed of the traditional var compensator (for example, the LC compensator), the inaccurate control effect, the parallel resonance of the grid and the switching oscillation.
