Energy Consumption Monitoring System for Buildings

Energy Consumption Monitoring System for Buildings

1. Overview

The Acrel-5000 building energy consumption monitoring system is an energy management analysis system for the end user. In addition to maintaining the fundamental functions of a traditional power management system, Acrel-5000 increased the function modules of centralized collection and analysis of water, gas, coal, oil, and heat (cold). It provides intuitive data and charts of each kind of energy consumption by making a detailed analysis and statistics of users’ energy consumption conditions so that the related workers could be easy to find high energy consumption points or unreasonable energy consumption habits, then related administrator can take measures to save energy and the system can provide data support for equipment upgrades and further energy-saving retrofits.

2. Application

1) Office Building (Business Office, State Organs Office Building, etc.)

2) Commercial buildings (shopping malls, financial institutions, etc.)

3) Tourist buildings (hotels, restaurants, entertainment places, etc.)

4) Scientific, educational, cultural and healthy Architecture (Culture, Education, Scientific Research, Medical and Health, Sports Architecture, etc.)

5) Communication Architecture (Posts and Telecommunications, Broadcasting, Television, Data Center, etc.)

6) Transportation buildings (airports, stations, wharves, etc.)

3. Structure

Acrel-5000 Building Energy Consumption Monitoring System uses computer, communication equipment and measurement and control unit as the basic tools. By adopting one or more combinations of field bus, fiber ring network or wireless communication according to the actual situation on site, Acrel-5000 provides an infrastructure platform for real-time data collection and remote management and control of public buildings energy consumption conditions, it also can be combined with detection equipment to consist of an arbitrarily complex monitoring system.

Acrel-5000 is an object-oriented, hierarchical and distributed intelligent integration structure with open, networking, unitary, configuration. The structure of Acrel-5000 is showed as follows:

4. Main Functions

The Acrel-5000 system can display the consumption of energy by year such as electricity, water, gas, centralized cooling and central heating and other energy consumption of the buildings and auto calculate energy consumption to the related consumption of standard coal which it’s easy to reflect all kinds of energy consumption of the building. The system shows the proportion of energy consumption of four major power consumption items in a pie chart and shows energy consumption trends with line chart, which are convenient for users to grasp the energy consumption intuitively in real time.

The system can query the energy usage according to the branch name of the classified energy consumption, and display the energy peak of the day and the month (Electrical energy corresponds to the maximum demand value). It can display the energy used for the day, the energy used of the month, the energy used of the year, and the energy used in the same period of the previous year, comparing with the energy consumption during the same period of the last month and the energy consumption in the same period of the previous year. Using a bar chart to display the energy consumption of the past 48 hours, 31 days, 12 months, and 3 years. At the top right of the graph, showing the curve of load energy trend of the last 15 minutes (The electricity meter shows the power curve and the flow meter shows the flow rate curve) and shows the current value, the maximum and minimum values within 15 minutes.

The energy consumption monitoring system can cover the whole building by choosing and setting energy consumption measurement points according to the distribution of electrical facilities.Users can access the energy consumption statistics report of each energy consumption node of the building through the relevant interface, so as to reduce resource wasting such as water pipe leakage and the tap is dripping and the measurement errors of energy consumption.
